It’s been a long time since we have seen such a dramatic rise in heating oil prices—although prices have been trending upward since the bottom dropped out of the energy markets at the start of the pandemic in the Spring of 2020.
First, it’s important to point out that for the most part, the price of oil has been fairly stable since 2014. But there have been a lot of changes over the past year or two that have upended the markets.
And it’s not limited to heating oil. Natural gas rates have doubled. Electricity costs are surging. And gasoline and propane have spiked skyward as well.
We don’t know where energy prices will go from here, but if history is a guide, we can expect to see heating oil prices drop pretty significantly in the not-too-distant future.
As we wait this out, please take some comfort in the fact that heating oil remains one of the most energy-efficient home heating sources available and much progress has been made in making heating oil a renewable, ultra-clean burning fuel.
Lawman’s Oil delivers clean-burning B20 Bioheat Plus® fuel. Bioheat fuel is the industry’s official registered name for the fuel that consists of a blend of ultra-low sulfur heating oil with renewable biodiesel that’s made from organic and recycled products. These products can range from soybean oil, used cooking oils, inedible corn oil, canola, tallow, fats and algae. Here are five other benefits:
While there are many reasons why people feel safe at home with oil heat, here are just four points to remember.
Did you know that the flame in a heating oil system burns hundreds of degrees hotter than in other energy systems? This produces more heat and warmer air or water, which leads to more even heat throughout the house. So, when it’s 5° outside and the wind chill makes it seem even colder, that extra heat will help keep your home super cozy.
