If your heating oil tank is aboveground outdoors or in your basement, look on top of the tank for a device similar to the one in this photo. The approximate amount of fuel you have will be displayed as a fraction.

2. Select the amount of fuel you have:

Input your fill level and choose from a list of standard oil tank sizes.
